Ayanna Demery
Principal, Brookview Elementary School
Mrs. Ayanna E. Demery is honored and excited to join the Brookview Elementary School community as its new principal. A dedicated, student-centered leader with over 23 years of experience in education, she is known for her warm demeanor, collaborative spirit, and unwavering commitment to student success.
Her educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southern University, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Demery has served in a variety of impactful roles, including classroom teacher, Early Intervention Program (EIP) teacher, Administrative Assistant, Instructional Literacy Coach, and most recently, Assistant Principal. Under her leadership, her previous school achieved several significant distinctions, including being named a Georgia Department of Education PBIS Distinguished School, a 2024 Title I Reward School, and earning the prestigious Georgia Platinum Award—recognizing the school as one of the Top 1% of Title I Schools in the State of Georgia for student growth.
Mrs. Demery believes that every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where they are empowered to reach their full potential. She is deeply committed to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff, and fostering a school culture rooted in respect, equity, and high expectations.
Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Demery enjoys reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband, Larry, and their five children. She looks forward to partnering with the Brookview community to continue building a school where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired to succeed

Janiece Benefield
Assistant Principal, Brookview Elementary School
With over a decade of experience in education and an unwavering passion for student success, Janiece Benefield is honored to serve as the new Assistant Principal of Brookview Elementary School. A proud graduate of Fulton County Schools, Ms. Benefield brings a full-circle perspective and a heartfelt commitment to the students, staff, and families of the community that helped shape her.
Ms. Benefield began her career as a special education teacher and has held a variety of impactful roles, including Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) School Improvement Coach, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Coach, Student Support Team (SST) Coordinator, and most recently, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Program Specialist for Zones 1–7. In that role, she supported schools in strengthening systems for academics, behavior, and student wellbeing, prioritizing whole-child success. She is known for leading with empathy, data-driven decision-making, and a strong focus on equity and collaboration.
A lifelong learner, Ms. Benefield holds multiple degrees, endorsements, and certifications in education, including a Specialist in Special Education, Tier I Educational Leadership certification, and is currently completing her Doctor of Education degree in School Improvement. She believes in leading with purpose, nurturing relationships, and fostering safe, inclusive environments where every child and adult can thrive.
Though new to the Brookview campus, Ms. Benefield has proudly partnered with the school in her previous role and has long admired its commitment to excellence. She is excited to join a school community that is truly “Great on Purpose” and looks forward to building strong relationships, supporting instructional excellence, and championing a culture of positivity, belonging, and achievement.
