PBIS

Fulton County Schools believes in providing the highest quality education for all students.  We follow the Response to Intervention (RtI) framework to ensure that we meet student needs.  RtI is a process designed to help schools focus on and provide high-quality instruction and interventions to students struggling with academics and/or behavior.  To address behavioral systems within the RtI framework Brookview students and staff have been implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

PBIS is a proactive systems approach for establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.  As a Response to Intervention (RtI) model, PBIS applies a three-tiered system of support, and a problem-solving process to enhance the capacity of schools to effectively educate all students.

Brookview Elementary School has adopted 4 building-wide expectations:

Acknowledging and reinforcing positive behavior is one of the best ways to encourage and shape appropriate behaviors and is an intricate part of PBIS.  Students at Brookview earn Panda Bucks for being responsible, respectful, and safe throughout the day.  They can spend their bucks for cool rewards in the school Panda Den or periodically there are school-wide drawings for fabulous prizes.

In addition, we celebrate by having monthly House Team Meetings and Panda Celebrations.
